From your cellphone (USSD)
- Dial *140*321# from the SIM that received the eWallet.
- Pick 'eWallet Balance' in the menu (option 2 or 3 depending on menu version).
- The balance appears on screen; a confirmation SMS may follow depending on the network.
From the FNB Banking app (FNB customers only)
If you bank with FNB Namibia, the app shows received eWallets under the 'eWallet' section. You see: amount, sender, date, and status (Pending / Withdrawn / Expired). A received eWallet can also be drawn straight from the app, no ATM trip needed.
If the balance doesn't show
- 'No eWallet received' means the PIN SMS hasn't landed — check your SMS inbox; it sometimes drops into the promotional folder.
- 'Request failed' indicates congested USSD network — retry in 30 seconds. USSD coverage is more reliable than data in rural areas.
- If more than 14 days have passed since the send, the eWallet has expired and the amount has returned to the sender — ask them to re-issue.
Frequently asked questions
How to see a received eWallet without being an FNB customer?
Dial *140*321# from the cellphone that received the send and pick 'eWallet Balance'. You see the amount and status without needing an FNB account.
Why does my balance show zero when someone sent me money?
Three possible causes: (1) the PIN SMS hasn't landed yet, (2) the eWallet has expired (14 days), (3) you're dialling from a different cellphone than the one that received. Check the send SMS to confirm the recipient number.
