Disclaimer and Legal Notice

Read before any significant transfer.

1. Indicative data only

The content published on MomoCalc — operator tariff sheets, government levies, per-transaction caps, exchange rates — is provided for informational purposes only. All values shown are as accurate as possible at the time of last verification, per our methodology. They may nonetheless change at any time without notice through an operator decision, a legislative shift, or interbank market movement.

Before any transfer of a significant amount, please verify the final cost directly with your operator (USSD, mobile app, accredited agent) or with the remittance platform involved.

2. Not financial advice

MomoCalc provides no financial, tax or legal advice. The comparisons we publish do not constitute a recommendation to use a particular operator, product or corridor. For investment, personal taxation or transfer-strategy questions on substantial amounts, consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.

3. Exchange rates — interbank reference

Exchange rates shown (USD/NGN, GBP/KES, EUR/XOF, etc.) are indicative interbank mid-markets refreshed daily. They are not the rates you will see at the operator level: a mobile money operator or remitter (Sendwave, LemFi, WorldRemit, Wise, M-Pesa, etc.) applies a commercial spread typically between 1% and 4% above this reference. That spread covers their FX hedging cost, settlement risk and commercial margin.

The EUR/XOF and EUR/XAF pairs are fixed at exactly 655.957 CFA per 1 EUR under a convertibility arrangement with the French Treasury, in force since 1 January 1999.

4. Government levies — coverage limits

We track national-level government levies on mobile money (for example Nigeria's EMTL stamp duty, Cameroon's TTA, Tanzania's withdrawal levy, Mali's 1% infrastructure levy). Our coverage may not include every sub-regional, municipal or niche tax: province-specific local taxes, B2B-only professional levies, time-limited promotional taxes. If you identify an uncovered tax, write to hello@momocalc.com.

5. Errors and omissions

Despite our diligence, errors or omissions are possible. If you spot incorrect data, contact us with: (1) the country and operator involved, (2) the amount and transaction type, (3) ideally a screenshot of the receipt or official tariff sheet. Verified corrections are applied within 7 days. We maintain an internal log of applied corrections for traceability.

6. No operator affiliation

MomoCalc is published by Blackcedar Media Limited, an independent company based in Accra, Ghana. We have no commercial affiliation with the mobile money operators we cover, and we receive no commission from them. Operator links on MomoCalc pages are provided for informational purposes only, with no compensation.
