1. What we collect
MomoCalc collects a strictly minimal set of technical information to measure site traffic and to keep the site running:
— Page views: URL of the page visited, visit timestamp.
— Country of origin at the country level only, derived from the IP address by Cloudflare (never the raw IP address, never precise geolocation).
— Device type (mobile, tablet, desktop) and browser preferred language (EN or FR).
— Referrer (the previous site that sent the user, e.g. google.com), only when transmitted by the browser.
2. What we do not collect
MomoCalc never collects:
— Your name, email address (unless you write to us at hello@momocalc.com, in which case your email is kept only to reply).
— Your phone number, SIM number, Mobile Money wallet ID or bank account number.
— Your precise location (GPS), postal address, or any personal profile information.
— The amounts you type into the calculators: those computations run entirely in your browser and are never sent to our servers.
— Any banking data, payment information or card numbers. MomoCalc is not a money-transfer service and does not process payments.
3. Cookies and local storage
MomoCalc does not set third-party tracking cookies (no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no retargeting cookies). The site may use one strictly-necessary technical cookie to remember your preferred language (EN or FR) between visits. That cookie contains no identifying information. It expires after 12 months or can be deleted from your browser settings at any time.
4. Self-hosted analytics
To measure site traffic, MomoCalc uses cookieless, anonymous analytics running on our own Cloudflare infrastructure. No individual identifiers are created, no sessions are tracked across visits, and no personal data is shared with third-party advertisers. The aggregates we see are limited to: "1,247 visits from Nigeria to the /nigeria page yesterday," with no way to identify an individual visitor.
5. Technical third parties
MomoCalc is served from Cloudflare Workers and uses the Cloudflare D1 database. Cloudflare receives the inbound HTTP requests and may retain technical logs (IP, timestamp) for a short period for security and abuse-protection purposes, per its own policy. We also use ExchangeRate-API for the daily refresh of FX rates; this integration is server-to-server and involves no user data.
6. Retention
Anonymous analytics aggregates are retained for a maximum of 24 months for trend analysis. No personal data needs retention because we don't collect any. Emails you send to hello@momocalc.com are kept as long as the exchange is active, then archived for legal traceability for 24 months and deleted.
7. Your GDPR rights
As an EU user or resident of a jurisdiction with equivalent rights, you have:
— Right of access: we can confirm in writing that we hold no personal data on you (because we don't collect any).
— Right to erasure: not applicable for site visits (nothing is stored). For emails you have sent us, write to request immediate deletion.
— Right to portability: not applicable (no data to export).
— Right to object: you can block the anonymous analytics with any browser extension of your choice; the site will continue to function normally.
8. AdSense and advertising
If MomoCalc adds Google AdSense or another advertising network in the future, this section will be updated to describe precisely the advertising cookies placed and the applicable consent policy. As of this publication, no advertising is active on MomoCalc.
