MVola Avance: Fees, Rates & Repayment Calculator
MVola Avance is an instant nano-credit: MVola advances you an amount you repay within 30 days, for a dossier fee of 8 to 12% depending on your usage history. Use the calculator above to estimate the total to repay and the real cost.
indicative rate (8–12%) — your rate depends on your usage history
How does MVola Avance work?
MVola Avance is part of the "Épargne et Avance" (Savings and Advance) menu, reached by USSD or in the MVola app. You request an advance, the amount is credited to your wallet immediately, and you have 30 days to repay it, in one go or progressively. The cost is a dossier fee of 8 to 12% of the amount borrowed; that fee varies by usage history: the more regular your MVola activity and the better your repayment record, the closer your rate sits to the bottom of the range.
The fee is applied at repayment, either deducted or added to the amount due. The calculator above starts from an indicative 10% rate; move the slider to see the effect of a higher or lower rate.
Who can borrow? (eligibility)
Eligibility and the maximum amount depend on your MVola history: account age, transaction frequency and, above all, your past repayment behaviour. There is no single public score; MVola assesses your profile and offers a personalised limit and rate. A new or low-activity account usually gets a lower limit and a rate closer to the top of the range.
Because the rate is personalised, the figure shown here is an estimate. Before borrowing, check the exact amount and fee offered in the MVola app, which are authoritative.
Repayment and what happens at 30 days
You can repay in one go or in progressive instalments before the 30-day deadline. Repaying early does not reduce the dossier fee (it is set at grant), but it frees up your borrowing capacity and protects your history for better future rates. At the deadline, the outstanding balance is usually deducted automatically from your next MVola credit; failing to repay damages your profile and your eligibility for further advances.
Is MVola Avance worth it? (the effective cost)
A 8 to 12% fee over 30 days looks modest, but annualised it is a very high cost (on the order of 100 to 150% a year). For a one-off need of a few days, the advance can help; for a recurring need, it is expensive. Before borrowing, compare it with waiting a few days, asking a relative, or using savings. Borrow only what you need and repay as fast as possible.
