Why don't the four operators share one number-prefix?
Tanzania's TCRA allocates *150*xx# in distinct blocks per operator. The prefix *150*00# = Vodacom M-Pesa, *150*01# = Mixx by Yas, *150*60# = Airtel Money, *150*88# = Halotel HaloPesa. The shared *150* part is the mobile-money namespace; the suffix is the operator code.
Do the USSD codes work in roaming?
Mostly no — Tanzanian operators block mobile-money USSD from foreign SIMs for security. To use the wallet abroad, use the operator app (M-Pesa Tanzania, Mixx Super App, Airtel Money) — provided data coverage allows.
