How to open a MoMo PSB account (*671# or the app)
Updated June 2026 · source: momo.ng
How do I open a MoMo PSB account?
On an MTN line, dial *671# or download the MoMo PSB app, grant access, and set a 4-digit PIN. That opens a basic Tier 1 wallet instantly — your MTN number without the leading zero is your account number. Link your BVN to upgrade to Tier 2/3 and unlock higher limits and inbound international transfers.
Step by step
- 1Dial *671# on your MTN line
Open your phone dialer on an MTN SIM and enter *671#, then choose to open a MoMo account. (You can also download the MoMo PSB app from the Play Store or App Store.)
- 2Grant access and accept the terms
Select the option to give MoMo access and accept the terms and conditions to begin onboarding.
- 3Set and confirm a 4-digit PIN
Create a 4-digit PIN you will use to access and authorise your wallet, then re-enter it to confirm.
- 4Your phone number becomes your account number
Your MTN phone number without the leading zero is your MoMo account number — share it to get paid.
- 5Upgrade KYC with your BVN to raise limits
Link your BVN and add ID/proof of address to move to Tier 2/3 — required to receive international transfers.
KYC tiers and limits
