Ghana MoMo USSD Codes: MTN, Telecel Cash, AT Money

Ghana's mobile money USSD codes, by task. MTN MoMo uses *170#. Telecel Cash and AT Money share *110# — the code resolves by your SIM. Balance, send, cash-out, PIN and statement, with no internet. Verified June 2026.

⚠️ Telecel Cash and AT Money both use *110#

It is not a mistake. Telecel Cash and AT Money both use *110# — the code resolves by which SIM dials it: on a Telecel SIM it opens Telecel Cash, on an AT SIM it opens AT Money. MTN MoMo uses *170#. Always dial the code from the line linked to your account.

Codes verified June 2026.Operators occasionally reshuffle menus — dial the base code and follow the screen if an option moved.

*124# = airtime balance, not wallet

On every network, *124# shows your airtime (call credit) balance, not your mobile money balance. For your MoMo wallet balance, use *170# → My Wallet (MTN) or *110# → My Account (Telecel/AT). Confusing the two is a common error: airtime is for calls and data, the MoMo wallet is for transfers and payments.

How MoMo USSD works

A USSD code like *170# is a short sequence you dial like a number. It opens an interactive menu carried over the cellular network — no internet or app needed. That is why mobile money works on any phone, anywhere there is signal.

This page covers mobile money (MoMo) codes only. Full Ghana bank USSD codes (transfers from a bank account, GhIPSS) are a separate topic covered elsewhere.

Frequently asked questions

Why do Telecel Cash and AT Money use the same *110# code?
In Ghana, Telecel Cash and AT Money share the USSD code *110#. There is no clash: the code resolves by which SIM dials it. On a Telecel SIM, *110# opens the Telecel Cash menu; on an AT SIM, *110# opens the AT Money menu. MTN MoMo, by contrast, uses *170#. This is the confusion no one explains.
How do I check my MoMo balance in Ghana?
On MTN MoMo, dial *170# then choose 6 (My Wallet) to see the balance. On Telecel Cash, dial *110# then 6 (My Account). On AT Money, dial *110# then 5 (My Account). Note: *124# shows your airtime balance, not your mobile money wallet balance — do not confuse the two.
How do I send money from MTN to Telecel?
Dial *170#, choose 1 (Transfer Money), then the option to another network, enter the recipient's Telecel number and the amount, and confirm with your PIN. Ghana has interoperability: you can send to any network with just the phone number. See our cross-network transfers page.
What is *124# for?
*124# shows your airtime (call credit) balance on all networks. It is NOT your mobile money balance. For your MoMo wallet balance, use *170# (MTN) or *110# (Telecel/AT) then the account menu. This distinction prevents a common mix-up.
Do USSD codes work without internet?
Yes. USSD runs over the cellular network, not mobile data. You can check your balance, send money and cash out with no data plan, on any phone.
What if the USSD menu changed?
Operators occasionally reshuffle their menus. Dial the base code (*170# or *110#) and follow the on-screen wording rather than a memorised path — the menu always reflects current operations.
