- Dial *500# — Open your phone's dialer and enter *500# on the Airtel Money SIM.
- Choose Send Money — Select Transfer / Send Money from the menu.
- Enter the recipient number — Type the recipient's mobile number, then confirm the name shown.
- Enter the amount — Enter the amount to send; any fee is displayed before you confirm.
- Confirm with your PIN — Enter your Airtel Money PIN to authorise; you get an SMS confirmation.

Cash-out is priced by band : flat RWF200 RWF1,000–RWF10,000; flat RWF300 RWF10,001–RWF100,000; flat RWF1,500 RWF100,001–RWF500,000; flat RWF3,000 above RWF500,001. Receiving money is free; the cost sits at sending and at cashing out to physical cash.
Government levy. There is currently no specific state mobile-money tax in Rwanda: you pay only the operator's fee.
