About WE Pay in Egypt

WE Pay is the mobile wallet of Telecom Egypt, the country's fixed-line and internet operator and owner of the 'WE' mobile network. The wallet runs under the Central Bank of Egypt and supports transfers, payments and bill settlement, with cash-in and cash-out through WE stores, Fawry outlets and ATMs.

Unlike Vodafone, Orange and Etisalat, which publish a clear unified tariff, WE Pay's terms state that fees are set by the partner bank and may change from time to time. We therefore show them here as indicative on the CBE-standard model (around EGP 1 to transfer, ~1% to cash out) rather than claim unpublished precision. The one confirmed constant is that receiving international transfers to the wallet has no service fee.

If you need confirmed numbers before a large transfer, Vodafone Cash, Orange Cash and Etisalat Cash publish official tariffs, and the InstaPay rail has fixed fees (0.1%, capped at EGP 20). Compare all options on the Egypt page, and confirm WE Pay's tariff directly in its app.

Frequently asked questions

How much are WE Pay fees?
Telecom Egypt's terms state WE Pay fees are bank-set and subject to change, so they are indicative on the CBE-standard model (around EGP 1 to transfer, ~1% to cash out). Confirm in-app.
Is receiving international transfers on WE Pay free?
Yes, receiving international remittances to the WE Pay wallet has no service fee.
Why are WE Pay fees indicative rather than verified?
Because Telecom Egypt's service terms explicitly state fees are set by the partner bank and subject to change without a fixed published schedule, so we show them as indicative rather than inventing precision.
Where do I find the official WE Pay tariff?
In the WE Pay app itself or on the Telecom Egypt billing portal, where the fees applicable to your account are shown at the time of the transaction.
WE Pay or InstaPay for large transfers?
Because WE Pay fees are indicative, InstaPay can be clearer and cheaper for large transfers thanks to its fixed EGP 20 per-transaction cap. Compare on the Egypt page.
